Ed Staunton
Level 1 SLS Instructor

Ed studied music at the London Centre of Contemporary Music, where he gained a distinction in their Higher Diploma Vocal Performance and Music Production course. He has over fourteen years experience as a singer, and has performed in numerous bands across several genres, as well as studying singing techniques across rock, pop, soul, funk and jazz.

His easy-going nature and ability to explain singing methods in an easy-to-understand manner means he is able to work with singers of all abilities, from the enthusiastic beginner through to the more advanced singer. Ed has been studying the SLS technique since 2003 and continues to further his SLS education by taking regular lessons with other top SLS instructors

Lessons are tailor-made, but structured enough to allow pupils to develop and learn about their own voice. Technique makes up a key part of lessons but Ed understands the importance of bringing the best out in a singer's voice without compromising their individuality as a singer. Above all else, singing lessons should be enjoyable.

Whilst Ed is a singing teacher and singer first and foremost, Ed also holds a degree in Psychology & Physiology (BSc), which strengthens his own understanding of the voice and his communication to his pupils.

Ed wants to be David Bowie when he grows up.
